²CONCLUSION¹
It's pretty hard to choose which cruncher to use when the results are as
close as these. If you're looking for a cruncher to do large executable
files that is quick (uncrunching) then look no further then Imploder 4,
it took nearly half the time to uncrunch Dpaint and it was crunched better
then PowerPacker could do it.
But if you're looking for ease of use, and the ability to set your cruncher
running and leave it, then your proggie is PowerPacker 4. With the Arexx
port (in the WB2 version) and it's own script language, it's great. It's
also great for crunching data files (docs, pix, etc). It handled the
smaller proggie (DirWork) much better then Imploder (size and time), but
it is still slower to uncrunch when executed.
So it's your choice!, my personal preference is PowerPacker because you
feel as if you have "CONTROL" over the programme and you can set it how
you want it. I just wish I had a better grasp of Arexx so I could write
some excellent scripts for it, I've written a few, but nothing to write
home about. If anyone out there has written some cool Arexx PowerPacker
Scripts (#?.pprx) send them to us, and we'll distribute them!
³Happy Crunching!¹
